Christmas High School Cyber Security Lectures 2014

0 9 years ago

The Christmas cyber security lectures are a series of lectures across the country in the week before Christmas for High schools. With up to 5 talks from leading industry figures, Police Scotland and University academics in one session it is a fun and varied introduction to the challenges facing all of us as we move towards the internet of things.

The purpose behind the event is to use light hearted and fun methods to introduce a career in Cyber Security to school pupils; address the skills and gender gap; and to raise cyber security profile through publicity generated by the lectures

This year we will be taking the event on the road to the following cities:
Friday 12th December – Inverness College
Monday 15th December – University of Glasgow
Tuesday 16th December – Edinburgh Napier University (Merchiston)
Wednesday 17th December – Dundee Abertay University
Thursday 18th December – Aberdeen Robert Gordons University
We may also live stream the Edinburgh and Glasgow events to schools and Universities across the UK.

We can confirm the well known cyber security expert James Lyne from Sophos will be speaking at both the Edinburgh and Glasgow sessions. Depending on the venue we have a variety of speakers (examples below) to deliver up to 5 different presentations in 2 hours.
