About CompEdNet

Scotland's professional community for Computing Science teachers

What is CompEdNet?

CompEdNet (Computing Education Network) is a free, independent online community for Scottish Computing Science teachers, lecturers, and student teachers. Since 2010, we have provided a space for educators to share resources, discuss pedagogy, and support each other across every level — from BGE through National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher.

What we offer

  • Discussion groups for every SQA level and local authority, plus specialist topics
  • Resource sharing — worksheets, lesson plans, and teaching materials
  • Sector news — curated articles about Computing Science education in Scotland and beyond
  • Job listings — CS teaching vacancies across Scotland
  • Email integration — get notified and reply straight from your inbox

Who can join?

CompEdNet is open to anyone involved in Computing Science education in Scotland: secondary teachers, primary teachers delivering computing topics, lecturers, student teachers on placement, and retired educators who wish to stay connected. Membership is free and always will be.
