I’m looking to do some video editing with S1 and/or S2 and I’m just looking for ideas on software for Windows 7. There’s Windows Movie Maker which is free and ok but I’m looking for something that is more powerful but isn’t going to cost the earth for an education license. We’re looking to put it on about 45 machines. Any thoughts?

Have you tried lightworks free?

Might give you the more advanced features you are after.

We have Serif MoviePlus – ’tis very good. I’ve used it with S1 classes, editing movie trailers and they got to grips with it quite quickly. I think there’s a free cut-down version of it but we suddenly had a site licence (which means it must be pretty cheap)
