Structure of the school curriculum beyond S3

Our school is currently debating the merits of 5 or 6 National Qualifications in the senior phase of the school with the possibility of 9 options in S2 / S3 and then 6 subjects (5 periods each) in S4 and S5.

A second possibility is to group all S4, 5 and 6 together as a single cohort (economies of scale) and offer either 5 or 6 National courses.

I would be interested in what is happening across the country and would be grateful if you could indicate your schools plans for the S4, 5 and 6 phase outlining the number of possible options and the period allocation. If you could also state your local authority.

    Thanks
