    Hi,

Is anyone carrying out the Apps for Good program? If so how is it going? I am interested in running it next year.

I am running it as an S3 course and so far I am enjoying it, but if you and running it “out of the box” you will find it works better as a cross curriculum project with business. I am making a lot of my own tasks and material up and not using all of their beginning topics.

    Hi,

Thanks for this. Are you doing the full course or the mini project?

Sorry I didn’t pick this up earlier.

We teach Apps for Good in Wick High and have seen a lot of success over the past two years.

We run it as an optional course in S3. We do the full course and try to add in Level 4/N5 content such as working in App Inventor.

The course works well for us, however, next session I hope to address the transition to N5 better as the course does take up quite a lot of time if you want to have a chance of making the finals. In my opinion there’s an awful lot of content in the course which can be slimmed down to the bare minimum competition entry. This gives a bit of scope for other things.

If you want a chat about this further, give me a call.

    Chris
