We have just undergone a refresh and are now on Windows 7 which is not compatible with VB 6. With all the changes taking place not wanting to move on to new language. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

It is time to download VB 2008 express. Most of it is the same, but the children will not be able to compile their programs.

Sorry – I forgot to mention the express versions are free and usually include other programs. The crazy person in you may choose to teach visual C++ as well

Kirsteen. I was told this information also, however I have discovered that VB 6 is compatible with W7. I am still using it. A message comes up at installation that says there MAY be some compatibility issues with it, but I have never experienced
any all the way up to Advanced Higher.

Kirsteen – we also have been using VB 6 without any major problems. The only problem we encountered was solved by switching the machines to Windows Basic theme. This made it usable.
