a question for the markers out there….in an exam, if a pupil gives actual code when asked to use design, do they still get the mark?

if they dont indent or clearly end loops or ifs, do they get the mark for the loop or if?

Hi Kerry. They should still receive the marks regardless of whether or not they write in code or use a design technique as they are still demonstrating that they understand the solution to a task.
Can’t quote for certain at N5 level but at Higher they have to clearly indicate the beginning and end of structures such as loops and if statements. Whether that is by writing end loop or end if or indenting is up to them as long as it can be clearly seen. If they do not, then the mark is not awarded.
