Having used these questions with students now, it is apparent how much easier the old Int 2 questions were than what is expected at Nat 5. Maybe the SQA should have given examples from previous Higher papers which would have been more realistic for a lot of it.
It’s still an improvement on the book of papers which I bought class sets of ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Specimen-National-Computing-Science-Papers/dp/1471802035/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400058818&sr=8-1&keywords=sqa+national+5+computing ) which screams out “Official SQA” on the front, then you realise the small print states that the only ‘official’ thing about it is the Specimen paper which has been freely available for over a year now. The three additional “specially comissioned” model papers are very poor quality with glaring mistakes. Let’s hope that next Friday is more similar to the Specimen Paper than these efforts…
