I’m making a sequence of videos for Nat4/Nat5 Computing Science: Information Systems Design and Development. I’ve put the first three on YouTube here

I just watched the first video and it looks really good – I especially liked the factoids about how much data we produce. I’ll definitely be using it as an intro to Info Systems.

All three videos are excellent!! Can i ask what software you used to create the videos Charlie?

    Hi Bobby,

The software I’m using is Adobe Premier Pro (which works with my DV camera for the stop motion videos). The third video is made entirely in Premier Pro using the transitions features, titles and a couple of compositions in AfterEffects. I’m also using a Bamboo Graphics Tablet and QuickTime on Mac to capture the “write on” sequences as screen grabs on Mac OS. This saves them as MOV files which I then import into Premier.

I’m working my way through all the Nat4/Nat5 knowledge content from the arrangements. My plan is to use the videos to “flip” the classroom: giving the videos as homework and focusing on practical tasks/skills work in class contact time.

Thanks Colin. I will be making the .mp4 files available for download so you can use them in class/in Glow/wherever rather than having to depend on Youtube.

I’m just finishing off the last Database video and then I’ll be making my way through the rest of the draft content.

Excellent, I always liked the Minute Physics videos that are done in a similar fashion.
Did they take a lot of time to create/edit?
