Backpacker Holiday (ISDD Pack 3)

Is anyone else a bit unclear on what’s expected for Tasks 2 and 3 in this assessment? Task 2 looks like it should just be a sketch of the user interface on paper but it includes the line “You should create all the necessary forms and ensure that all the links operate correctly”. How can they be expected to do this without first creating the database (which is Task 3)?

Can someone assure me that I’m not going mad? After consultation with a collegue (not a computing teacher but IT technician) he wondered if the the last line is maybe from Task 4 which contains exactly the same line with the addition of “There should also be a link from each form back to this screen.”.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, this is the 3 tasks in their entirity.

    Task 2 (Assessment Standard 1.1)
Design the user interface of the database so that it is easy to add new travellers, new venues and new bookings. It should have a graphic to make it look attractive.
You should create all the necessary forms and ensure that all the links operate correctly.

    Task 3 (Assessment Standard 1.2)
Using a database package, you should:
    • create the database structure (note: all the primary keys should use Auto-number)
    • enter the sample data to create the first record for each table
Obtain a printout (or equivalent), showing the table structure for all the tables.
You should now ask your assessor for the completed database and carry out the following tasks:

    Task 4 (Assessment Standards 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4)
Create the user interface for the database that both opens automatically and then plays a short sound clip. You can either choose a suitable sound clip and graphic yourself or ask your assessor for suitable ones.
You should create all the necessary forms and ensure that all the links operate correctly. (There should also be a link from each form back to this screen.)
