Thank you! Can I ask if it’s used across the school or by individual teachers? We (Robert Gordons College, Aberdeen) are currently using it in the Computing department for senior school pupils only as an extended trial.

Hi Ian
We now have teachers using Edmodo in the following subjects:
Computing
Business ed
Maths
History
RE
Modern Studies
Chemistry
Biology
Physics
Technical
Modern Languages
We are using it from S1 to S6. The kids are responding really well to it and it is having a huge impact on return of homework, especially if teachers are putting the topic resources in the library.

We have started to us the polls and quizzes. It has worked really well for collaboration in groups.

Hi Lorraine, that sounds brilliant! Glad it’s going well – we’re still trialling with S5 and S6 Computing classes until summer but the unlimited Library space has been excellent for storing pupil notes as well as summary videos / podcasts.

I use it with S3 computing science – Falkirk High School, Falkirk.

I use it for homework, quizzes, polls and posting all of the class resources in the folders. I don’t use the backpack facility but I know that Art do.

It’s also being used by PE, Art, Drama and Music. maths are looking at it as well and I’ve to give a presentation to SMT shortly about it to see if we are going school wide with it.

Hi there,
We use Edmodo at Cardinal Newman High in Bellshill.
North Lanarkshire. We have a large number of staff using it this year (about 30) in many different departments.

We use Edmodo with the Higher and Int 2 classes.

Dollar Academy, Clacks. We used Edmodo with our S3 to S6 computing groups for the first time this session. A few other deopartments in our school also use it.

High School of Dundee, Have been using it with pupils in Form 4-6 so Int 2 Computing up to AH Computing.

I have taken part in a study of the use of VLE to assist with transition to further education.

After looking at a moodle presentation recently I may experiment with it if IT allow…

I find Edmodo useful for allowing pupils to plan, collaborate and discuss.

If other departments use Edmodo then students will have everything in one place, where our current VLE has a separate calender for each department.
