S1-S3 tracking

I suddenly find myself as the only computing teacher at a smallish school and panic is slowly setting in.

One of the things I’ve been asked to do is provide a document that helps us to track progress during BGE. I was wondering if anyone had anything similar I could possibly have a look at (for inspiration only). My document is to have a particular format which I’ll try to describe:

For each unit there should be prompts under the headings of Breadth Challenge and Application so in our internet safety unit for example we might have:

Breadth: I know what a phishing e-mail is and understand why people send them.
Challenge: I can describe two ways in which phishing e-mails can be identified.
Application: I can describe two effective ways of dealing with phishing e-mails.

It seems very ticky-box but if we get it right it’ll make report writing a heck of a lot easier.

I would recommend you use the SALs in conjunction with the Progression Framework Statements which are found in the same location in the above link.

Just to give everyone a heads up that there are going to be revised and updated Significant Aspects of Learning for the Technologies area released in March this year. It’s on the CfE implementation timescale document that ES have released.
