    Hi

I’ve been looking at the N5 course unit support notes and thought it might be good to see what people’s ideas were of some of the concepts, and the levels of detail expected by pupils.

For examples, what is meant by processor types?

I have more, but maybe look at them one at a time 🙂

    Me too.

Interface types and speeds – how much detail at N5/Higher?

We’re planning on using existing exam questions and the older more detailed specifications for areas that already exist at Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher Information Systems and Computing to give us some initial ideas as to the level of detail that might be required.

We know there will still be gaps left but it’ll give us a better indication of where we need to develop new activities and materials to help plug them.

We’re doing the same thing as Peter, in that we will use the SG Computing as a guidelines for level of detail – in order to stil prepare them for the Higher, which I am assuming will not be a drop in standard.  We are also going to be teaching nat 4 and 5 at the same time, starting from S3 as a general/credit course.
