Hi,

Have any of your schools allowed mobiles to be used to record school events/class work etc?

We are running a media club using Radiowaves.co.uk this year and our pithy non-budget means we have 2 cheap digital video cameras and a couple of headsets for kids to use. They have better quality stuff on their phones but our last attempt to get the school to make exceptions to the mobile phone policy was a failure.

I’d be greatful for any hints, tips or words of wisdom on this.

I would allow them to use the phones in class, dont make a big thing of it, just do it. The school will not change whole school policy just for one class, but they probably would turn a blind eye if they were being used in class for work purposes.
